2020.11.19 08:21 Casual_Wedditor Not everyone is attractive, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Statistically speaking, most people are not attractive. It's just a fact. I'm not trying to be mean or rude, It's just true. And I think we need to normalize this being ok.
Now when I say this, I don't necessarily mean we should tell people to their faces how ugly they are. What I mean is we shouldn't pretend that everyone is hot. I always see shit like "Remember, beauty is subjective" touted around on reddit and irl. The reality is that there will always be "hot" people and "unattractive" people. And, in that vein, attractive people often share specific facial features that unattractive ones specifically lack.
It's been scientifically shown that traits like good jawlines or certain eye colors make people significantly more attractive to almost every person, regardless of their personal preferences. People may say things like "I prefer brunettes to blondes" but this doesn't mean they only find brunettes attractive. They're subjective preference for brown hair (in most cases) won't mean they will find a smooth-skinned, sharp-featured face with pretty eyes and blonde hair to be ugly.
One thing I hate hearing "You're a 10/10 to somebody out there". The truth is that if you have an unattractive face, then you're probably not a 10/10 to anybody. And that's fiiiiiine. There's literally nothing wrong with that, nobody actually expects you to be that beautiful. And that's definitely not to say that no one will love you, it just means they probably won't think you're the most physically attractive person ever. Romantic partners don't have to find their partners to be the most attractive people on the planet. Because, even if they tell themselves they feel that way, they probably don't. They probably still see Idris Elba or Margot Robbie and think "damn" you know what I mean? Again, I don't think that's a problem. It's how it is, and will remain how it is until genetic engineering is cheap and easy enough so that everyone can have 10/10 kids.
I know that a lot of people are trying to navigate this whole body image issue, with all the influencers looking perfect online and shit like that, but telling everyone they're pretty asf isn't going to make anything better. We need to just normalize being average looking or ugly, because trying to trick people into living in blissful ignorance of the way they actually look is not only unrealistic and dangerous, but it's actually insulting. At least, that's my 2 cents.

Also, I think plastic surgery should be normalized too, but not yet, cause people jsut get real botched looking faces. There's an extra 2 cents, keep the change

⟱⟱⟱ TV MOVIE ⟱⟱⟱
The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 19440 World MOVIE inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “Mr Television” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets
The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season.
⟱⟱⟱ Formats and Genres ⟱⟱⟱
See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres
Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed]
A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 1980s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 1980s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intended five-season run.[citation needed]
In 2020, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2020, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.

2020.09.12 22:14 Leading_Cold Gabrielle Union character in Daddy's Little Girls isn't that bad.

Recently I watch Daddy's Little Girls again, and I must say, that movie portrayal of a working black woman was an insult.
Mind you, the first time I saw this movie I was a kid, and as a kid I thought she was a horrible person. Now, as an adult watching her again, I have to say she is 100% right.
Gabrielle's character is a successful lawyer who makes 6 figures and educated. Yes, she is a bit mean, but that is a small compression to everything around her. Her friends constantly put her on dates with random men who are just below her as a person. Not even job-wise but as a person, one man didn't even want to pay the bill for their blind date. The blind date then embarrasses her and describes sexual acts towards her lips, which makes her very uncomfortable.
But when she tries to explain this to her friend, she basically tells her she needs to lower her standers and try to remove the stick up her ass. She then hangs up the phone after telling her that she is with HER MAN. As if it was too insulting her. Also, she complains that she needs to have sex to calm down like that is going to take away the stress of being a high paid lawyer who is also a black woman at those times?
Then we have Idris Elba character basically doing the same thing, insulting her because she can't get a partner. He then basically tells her to pull the stick out her ass so she can calms down. Which pisses me off is that she does and she hooks up with a Idris, as if he was a catch with no problems of his own.
And the thing that gets me is that she isn't a mean person. Small examples is that she tries to confer Monty after he losses his kids. She also was willing to hear him out and help him get his kids back, this was before they started to develop feelings. So we see she's not that bad of a person. She even starts to fall in love with him not because he's rich or anything, but because he is a good person with a good heart. True she had doubt and didn't see the full picture, but as a woman who just read that her lover may have been a rapist, wouldn't you be on high alert too?
Its not even about money-wise, like her best friend pointed out, I am annoyed at the fact that this man doesn't see the struggles she goes through to try and understand her problems. At the same time, the film really doesn't give him a chance too either. Maybe one small hint then and there, but that's it. He is constantly trying to get his kids, and which is the main plot of the story and I understand.
What I am saying is, Daddy's Little Girls didn't age well when it comes to Gabrielle's character. She is a smart, educated, successful, strong, well-spoken, good-hearted, and badass woman. But we don't see the full picture till after she gets a man, and that what annoys me about this movie.

2020.08.13 00:16 daikonhoney Questioning

Hi everyone, I came out as pan in my early twenties. Then I met my current (male) partner and I've been with him for two years. I genuinely love my partner but I hate sex and cuddling.
The thing is I actually have enjoyed sex with men. Or at least I think I did. The irony is that the enjoyable sex has been with men that I was in horrible, dysfunctional relationships with. I was also always a sub getting off by the man looking at me and imagining how he felt. Most of these men haven't necessarily been super masc but definitely saw themselves as "the man."
On the other hand, my current relationship is loving, nourishing, and respectful. I don't feel like I have to fit this ideal femininity any more. (Ironically after a bad breakup I embraced my femininity and went full high femme.) If anything, I feel like maybe my partner would be more attracted to me if I was more androgynous. The thing is he's not a top in bed, doesn't look at me, and is interested in pegging. All of these things really turn me off.
I'm not sure if I'm pansexual or actually a lesbian. When I think about other men I can imagine myself maybe sleeping with them and maybe dating them, but never really both. For example, I'd bang Idris Elba but would I ever date him? Probably not. Dev Patel seems like he'd make a great boyfriend (the hair! the charm!) But I bet sex would suck after a few months. And I can never picture myself dating a man more than a few years, and never marrying or having kids.
With women it seems different. I have sexual and romantic fantasies about women but they're just that: fantasies. I don't have any real life experience to flesh out these fantasies, so I don't know if i'm just romanticising my imagination. Has anyone been in a similar boat?

2020.07.26 18:40 THROWRA_idkwtd123 I (24f) keep fantasizing about my bf's (26m) fantasy girl (23f)

My bf and I have been together for eight years, living together for three. Late last year we were playing a variation on the celebrity pass game. For those who don't know, it's a game you play where you can choose one person, usually a celebrity, that you can sleep with while being in a relationship with your partner. My bf and I were doing a slightly different version of this game, where we would pick out one for each other instead of ourselves. He picked Idris Elba for me, and I picked "J" for him. "J" is an instagram fitness model that I follow. I'm keeping her name out of it for reasons that will become clear in a moment.
A few months later, "J" moved in to the apartment above ours. This took us both a bit by surprise, but my bf reassured me that he knew the game we played was just a joke, and he's not going to do anything with "J". Over the past few months "J" and I have become quite friendly with each other, and have gone to each other's apartments for coffee, hung out, etc. She's very sweet and friendly, and I'm glad about this.
However, I've begun to have very explicit dreams about "J" and my bf having fun with each other. The thing is though... I enjoy those dreams. I enjoy thinking about the two of them doing stuff together, while I watch. I've never had any feelings like this before, and they've only become more intense as time has gone on. Last Thursday "J" had dinner with me and my bf, and it was all I could think about. I don't know where these thoughts have come from. All I know is that I have them now.
The way I see it, there are two options.
Option 1: I keep it just as a fantasy in my head. It might go away on its own. But like I said, it's become more intense in recent times and I'm scared the intensity might increase.
Option 2: I try to have my fantasy become a reality. But if my bf and "J" aren't into it, then I risk alienating them. If they are into it, and I end up not being satisfied with the result, then I risk alienating myself.
I don't know how to go forward. It's starting to drive me crazy.

Since Season 1, no more implied, explicit or suggested references to MOBMOVIE2000 have been made by Guy Everydude, or any other cast, at any point.
Kramden Jones and Guy Everydude are friendly, nothing special or not special - no effort to draw attention to them as a pair.
  1. Nothing to See Here:
The character Kramden Jones departs at the end of the season (as does his portrayor Betor Knives.)
Season 6 ends.

PART III
  1. The Show Does Not Go On
The show airs 5 more seasons - no references made by any cast to MOBMOVIE2000, or even Kramden Jones.
The show ends.

  1. Some Questions
A. IS THERE A WORD OR PHRASE FOR THIS... paradox? catch-22? Could even be considered a continuity error if you’re a maniac?
B. IF THERE IS NO WORD OR PHRASE - WHAT SHOULD IT BE?!??
C. WHAT are you even defining:
The moment the reference is ever made? The moment the guest walks on? The moment after they talk and he doesn’t recognize him? The episode that it’s on? The show it’s on? Something else?

2020.06.06 16:29 finnagains Quibi’s Slow Start Is Due to Having No Popular Titles, Poor Marketing — Analysis - Millionaire Bosses Re-Invent Youtube - by Tyler Hersko (Indie Wire) 3 June 2020

Despite execs arguing that the pandemic hurt the service, analysts counter that Quibi is floundering due to strategic flaws from the outset.
One of the defining strengths of Quibi, the short-form streaming service that launched on April 6, was its ability to court a wide variety of advertisers. But now, nearly two months after launch and with viewership staying low, some of the major companies that advertise on the streaming service are reportedly becoming concerned about the platform’s slow start.
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Quibi advertisers such as PepsiCo, Yum Brands, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Walmart are among the companies seeking to defer payments due to the streaming service’s low viewership numbers. Representatives from those companies did not return requests for comment.
The apparent concerns among Quibi’s advertisers cast further uncertainty on the streaming service’s long-term viability. Viewership at most competing streaming services is on the rise due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the mobile-only Quibi, which raised $1.75 billion prior to launch and regularly releases 10-minute (or shorter) episodes of its original series, has not reaped similar benefits. Quibi has also contended with executive turnover — Megan Imbres, who handled Quibi’s brand and content marketing, departed in April — and has begun to cancel shows as it looks to keep costs down. Quibi told employees in a recent internal memo obtained by IndieWire that its senior leadership team has volunteered to take a 10 percent pay cut and stressed that it would not be laying off staff as part of cost-saving measures.
Quibi founder Jeffrey Katzenberg expressed disappointment with Quibi’s early performance in a New York Times interview in May. While Quibi hasn’t released viewership numbers for any of its shows, CEO Meg Whitman told IndieWire in a recent interview that Quibi had been downloaded 4.2 million times as of May 26. The number of users who are actually using Quibi is less clear; Katzenberg told the New York Times that Quibi had 1.3 million active users as of May 11 and the number of paying users is likely less, as Quibi has offered free trials that run for as long as 90 days for some early adopters with select wireless providers.
Netflix, by comparison, had around 182 million subscribers as of April 21, while Disney recently said its Disney+ service, which launched late last year, had over 54 million subscribers as of May 5. Though Quibi has reportedly fared better with mobile users compared to WarnerMedia’s new HBO Max, which Bloomberg reported had only 90,000 first day mobile downloads, HBO Max is also available on computers and most smart televisions.
Though Quibi has partnered with a variety of popular filmmakers and actors, such as Chrissy Teigen and Liam Hemsworth, the streaming service’s unclear marketing and dubious value proposition have made it difficult for the platform to connect with prospective subscribers, according to Nitesh Patel, the director of wireless media strategies at research firm Strategy Analytics.
“Despite all the big names that have been involved with Quibi, like celebrities, shows, and directors that are contributing content to the platform, I still don’t know what Quibi actually means to people,” Patel said in an interview. “Part of the problem has to do with the value proposition. People don’t know what Quibi is and the content might not be there or optimized accordingly. In order to counteract that, they’ve extended the trial period to three months because they recognized that it will take some time for people to understand the service.”
A subscription to the ad-supported version of Quibi costs $4.99 per month, while a subscription to the ad-free version costs $7.99 per month. Though cheaper than most other streaming services on the market, Quibi faces fierce competition in a highly-competitive market. The popular Disney+ has expanded its subscriber base in recent months and NBCUniversal is gearing up to release its Peacock streaming service nationally on July 15.
Whitman, who served as president and CEO of eBay and helped the online retailer become one of the internet’s leading businesses, argued that some of the confusion around Quibi was due to the service offering an entirely new experience for consumers that is unlike the streaming services already on the market.
“We are creating a new category and it’s not that dissimilar to what I did with eBay, when nobody knew what e-commerce was,” Whitman said in an interview. “What we’re doing does not exist, so it doesn’t fall into a neat bucket. We’re premium video content on your mobile device with a unique viewing technology. It’s something that doesn’t exist, which is why it’s a little hard to explain. But people who use it understand it.”
The unique viewing technology Whitman referred to is called Turnstyle, which allows users to seamlessly switch between horizontal and vertical displays. Turnstyle allows Quibi content creators to display different scenes or character perspectives in their project depending on which way a smartphone using the Quibi app is held.
Katzenberg and Whitman stressed in the months leading up to Quibi’s launch that they did not see streamers such as Netflix or Hulu as rivals, as Quibi was designed to be used while users are outside during the day, such as in line at a coffee shop or while on public transportation. While Quibi’s Turnstyle technology is unlike any viewing feature on other streaming services, Quibi is still a mobile phone-oriented platform and a subscription-based streaming service, which means that it is inevitable that it will compete with preexisting subscription-based streamers, as well as popular free apps such as YouTube and Snapchat, according to Patel. He added that there have already been platforms similar to Quibi, such as the now-defunct go90 from Verizon and Vivendi’s Studio+.
“We’ve seen go90 from Verizon, which was ad-funded and completely free, and it still didn’t gain any attraction,” Patel said. “If we give them a bit longer, perhaps consumers will have more of an incentive to dip in. That said, the amount of competition is absolutely huge due to things such as mobile gaming and social apps like TikTok and WhatsApp that are all taking time away from Quibi.”
Regardless of what platforms it intends to compete with, Quibi’s mobile-only “on-the-go” design philosophy has been challenged by the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced most Americans to stay indoors, where they already have access to large televisions and computer screens that boast all of the industry’s popular streaming services. Katzenberg addressed how the ongoing pandemic has challenged Quibi in an interview with the New York Times in May.
“I attribute everything that has gone wrong to coronavirus,” Katzenberg said in the New York Times interview. “Everything. But we own it.”
Whitman noted that the pandemic has posed difficulties for the streaming service but said that the platform was making moves to adapt to the situation.
“The use case we really thought was the on-the-go mobile viewing from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” Whitman said. “You’d leave the house and get a cup of coffee or watch Quibi while waiting at a doctor’s office. Of course, we launched on April 6, when people weren’t on-the-go. Right at the start we had requests for TV viewing, so we responded right away and launched AirPlay on (May 26) and Chromecast will be coming in a couple of weeks.”
Quibi’s Turnstyle technology does not work on AirPlay. The platform’s content is also unable to be shared via screenshots or video clips — a key way Quibi’s targeted millennial demographic tends to discuss films and TV shows — but Katzenberg told the New York Times that that feature would be coming sometime in the future.
There’s no doubt that the coronavirus has impacted Quibi, but the platform’s most significant challenge has and will continue to be justifying its price tag when there are so many competing services that boast high-quality original films and television shows, according to Danyaal Rashid, a thematic analyst at analytics firm GlobalData.
“Of all the streamers out there, Quibi is the most impacted (by the pandemic) because it positioned itself as ‘something on-the-go,’” Rashid said in an interview. “The more important thing is the price, when you have Disney+ at $6.99 per month or basic Netflix for $8.99 per month. Price really shaped what has happened with Quibi. Quibi is trying to forge is own segment in the market but to gain value it will always come out to content. It needs to start to attempt to lead in content to warrant that dollar figure.”
Quibi launched with 50 titles and has promised to release 175 series within its first year. Its release schedule includes three hours of new content every weekday, and many of Quibi’s releases are star-studded: Idris Elba, Chance the Rapper, and Christoph Waltz are but a few of the many well-known Hollywood celebrities who star in Quibi shows, while A-listers such as Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Guillermo del Toro, and Steven Spielberg have created or have plans to create Quibi projects from behind the camera.
Although Quibi has partnered with numerous well-known talents to produce or star in its exclusive titles, none of Quibi’s releases have come close to the popularity of series such as “The Mandalorian” or “House of Cards,” the first original series on Disney+ and Netflix, respectively. Critics and journalists haven’t taken to Quibi’s releases either, given the service’s relative lack of post-launch media coverage. Quibi aggressively pitched its titles to journalists in the year leading up to launch and the quantity of Quibi’s similar press releases about its upcoming series made it difficult for critics to differentiate the titles. Star-studded action shows were promoted similarly to sobering documentaries, which caused Quibi’s potentially standout projects to get lost in the mix.
The streaming service also does not offer any acquired content, which was a key marketing point for competitors such as HBO Max, which spent hundreds of millions to acquire the rights to hit shows such as “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory.” Acquired content was also a significant draw for prospective Disney+ subscribers, given that the platform contains a large amount of popular films and television shows from brands such as Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar.
Quibi must find a way to entice viewers and the platform will need to do more to sell itself beyond boasting that its short-form content is well-produced, according to Doug Clinton, managing partner of tech VC fund Loup Ventures.
“They need to find a way to attract people who want to watch these kinds of shows instead of what they’re watching on YouTube or Instagram,” Clinton said. “A lot of YouTube content is under 10 minutes long and is shot professionally. Having a popular show would definitely help because finding some way for the platform to ingratiate itself with pop culture is important.”
Analysts were somewhat split on how Quibi could course-correct in the months ahead. Clinton suggested that Quibi should focus more on influencer-led content, which could better appeal to the millennial demographic that Quibi is targeting, while Patel suggested that partnerships and bundling — such as getting more ISPs or device makers to install the app onto smartphones — could boost the platform’s usage.
However, both analysts, as well as Rashid, agreed that Quibi would need to market itself better if it wanted to court new subscribers and retain the users who signed up for the 90-day free trials that will be ending in July. Quibi attempted to lean into the confusion in the months leading up to launch — it briefly changed its Twitter name to “WTFisQuibi” in January — but the streaming service will need to get serious about catering to its target audience if it wants to stand out in the market, according to Rashid.
“They hit the market quite hard on social media but it seemed a bit comical,” Rashid said. “People were making fun of what they were getting at. They were targeting millennials and hitting all the millennial buzzwords like ‘short form,’ but they forgot what millennials are renowned for, which is binge watching. They pulled binge watching out of the equation which is crazy, given who they are marketing for. I think there were strategic flaws from the beginning.”

2020.04.17 17:46 Jay-Jay580 I having trouble figuring myself out

So I’m here today to figure something out. I’m 18 and a male, for most of my life up until late middle school and early high school I have always thought I was straight. But for a few years now I’ve identified as Bisexual. Also the area in which I reside virgins are somewhat of a “Delicacy”. And I’m still a virgin (no shame in my game, just waiting for the right one I suppose) But I’ve always known I’ve had an INTENSE sexual response/feeling for women. Men on the other hand not so much. I have a few men that illicit a sexual feeling/response from me (Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Idris Elba, to name a few) but the feeling was never as significant as a woman. I have also recently had my very first sexual experience and it was with a guy. I didn’t dislike it. But it wasn’t enjoyable. I couldn’t get it up ya know, the boat didn’t exit harbor. And I felt really bad because I couldn’t satisfy my sexual partner. And afterwards I didn’t know how to feel. And I questioned my sexuality. I’m not against the thought of sexual relations with a man.
What should I do? I’m really confused about how I should handle this. And i really would like to know what am I?

2020.02.13 08:43 LieutenantPatang Pitch/Rewritting DCEU (Part 1: Darkseid War)

This is just a fan-write of how the ideal DCEU should have been. Unlike Marvel, we aren't doing phases, but rather archs. The first arch is Darkseid and the lead up to facing the villain. Also keep in mind I am not a very good writer (vocab grammar may be a bit off, didn't edit it), this is mainly just to give a slate and rough outline of the stories and tones of each film. If people enjoyed this I would be more than happy to write up the next arch... Injustice.

2013
Man of Steel
Directed by Zack Snyder
The movie is fine as it nothing much to change.
2014
Wonder Woman
Directed by PattDirey Jenkins
Similarly, wouldn't change much just moving the release date.
2015
Aquaman
Directed by James Wan
2016
Man of Tomorrow *(*Man of Steel Sequel; Batman v Superman)
Directed by Zack Snyder
This movie would basically be Batman v Superman, but all told from Superman's perspective. The biggest problem with the original film was that Batman stole the show from Superman, ultimately making him a B-player in his own universe. Realigning the story as a Man of Steel sequel introducing Batman allows for a fresh perspective of Batman that we haven't seen in earlier incarnations and also for Superman to be humanised and made to be more likeable.
Suicide Squad (One-off Movie)
Directed by David Ayer
Refer to this video as this is basically how I would have done it :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uahcsm-_8LI
2017
Justice League
Directed by Zack Snyder
I saw the Justice League rewrite done by Nando v Movies and I really liked the idea of the Legion of Doom being the main antagonists for the film. It avoids the aliens cliche (because we are getting a lot more of those) and also we have never seen a superhero film with a team of villains (..done well). So I like that idea and obviously there are few changes as Superman is alive, but I would like to leave the Justice League rewrite a little more vague and concentrate on the overall arch (as many people have already done fan-written the Justice League movie). So refer to this video if you want a cool pitch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfsHiP6z9wg
At the end of the film, I would ultimately have the League defeat the Legion and solidify themselves as the Justice League, ending with Wayne Enterprises launching a Space Station into orbit which will eventually become the Watch Tower.
2018
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Directed by Matt Reeves
Not much to change from the animated movie, just a faithful adaptation. Some key events though for those who don't know:
A Flash From Two Worlds (Flash movie)
Directed by Rick Famuyiwa
This movie plays as a twisted version of Terminator 2, Barry must protect the younger version of a future villain (basically the plot of the Looper) and other adversaries of his. The adult version of this child returns in future installments of the Flash series.
Wonder Woman II
Directed by Patty Jenkins
Basically a straight forward comic book movie with Cheetah (played by Alexandra Dadarrio) as the main antagonist. The film is set in a completely in a jungle as Diana is undertaking an investigation for a historical artefact, her expedition team is being hunted by a forest creature by the name of cheetah. Diana must protect he team from the threat. Think along the lines of Predator meets Conan the Barbarian.
2019
Aquaman: Manta Rising
Directed by Gore Verbinski
A movie more adventurous along the lines of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Shazam!
Directed by David Sandberg
Change nothing, the movie is great as it is.
2020
Justice League Doom
Directed by Alex Garland
This movie takes a deeper more existential turn for the DCEU, as Vril Dox (Brainiac played by Doug Jones) arrives on Earth, alone, a space craft the size of Metropolis. The movie should tackles themes of aliens and the larger purpose of the universe, thus Alex Garland would be the ideal director to layer the movie with existential subtext.
Green Lantern Corps
Directed by Shane Black
2021
Man of Krypton
Directed by Zack Snyder
The final instalment of the Man of Steel Trilogy, Clark has to cope with not having his powers and trying to prove to himself that even without his powers he is still Superman.
Fate (One-off Movie)
Directed by Denis Vilenuve
Origin story of Dr Fate, follows a sort of supernatural thriller genre (similar in tone to a movie like Enemy)
Red Hood (TV Series)
The series documents the adventures of Red Hood;
Season 1 (2021): Red Hood adventures with Arsenal (played by Liam Hemsworth; ex-sidekick of, the now deceased, Green Arrow)
Season 2 (2022): Cassandra joins Jason and Roy (Arsenal)
2022
Batman: Night of the Owls
Directed by Michael Mann
The story is pretty much the same as the comic book counter-part, except it takes place all in one night which creates a greater sense of tension and urgency.
Wonder Woman III
Directed by Patty Jenkins
The final instalment of the Wonder Woman trilogy is a psychological thriller which dissects the Wonder Woman mythos as she is being tormented by Dr Psycho. The film is similar to Inception as a lot of the movie take place inside Diana's mind, blurring the lines of reality and nightmares, the death of Superman also has a profound impact upon her.
A Flashpoint Paradox
Directed by The Spierig Brothers
Minus these changes, the film plays out quite similar to the comic book.
2023
Aquaman: Return of Atlan
Directed by James Wan
Justice League Apocalypse
Directed by Matt Reeves
2024
Shazam! v Black Adam: Dawn of Fate
Directed by Evan Goldberg
The Shazam films should be positioned as the self aware stories of the DCEU (thus the title). This movie is similar to Thor Ragnarok in tone. Its an inter-dimensional adventure, where two larger than life beings battle it out, Doctor Fate is also introduced in the film. The purpose of this movie is to explain why Shazam is absent in Justice League Apocalypse (he has been sucked into an inter-dimensional gladiator match by Black Adam; who is from an alternate dimension). This movie ends with Doctor Fate and Shazam tag teaming Black Adam, defeating him. However, the two beings are now lost in some abstract dimensional reality.
Justice League War
Directed by Matt Reeves
The final chapter of the Darkseid Saga.

THE END (OF THE DARKSEID SAGA)... INJUSTICE is only now beginning

2020.01.23 09:53 RampantSaiyan I was somewhat aware of me dreaming, but it still felt not like a lucid dream. What do you think?

I just woke up so I want to share this before I forget everything and before I forget Madeen..
The dream starts with me going to a heist with my crew members. I already can't remember their names or faces. Except for one. Idris Elba xd. Anyway so we go in this big ass bank and shoot a few times in the air to scare the people and shout the mandatory and cliche lines.
Immediately a team of counter-attackers appear and we start fighting each other. We are four, they seem to have waves of endless man power. One of their men, Someone straight out of Men in Black, Puts down a metallic suitcase on the ground and shouts everyone to wear their gas masks. He opens it and a pinkish smoke comes out of it. This is where the inception type of dream starts.
I inhale it and I fall asleep in my dream and start dreaming in my dream. My crew members shouting at me to keep it together, but their voices become distant. I dream being in a wave shooter, just like call of duty zombies. There is a table full of weapons, traps and other gadgets. I grab an AR and a Combat Shotgun as a secondary weapon. I start blasting zombies and running through the levels. I am still aware that I am dreaming in a dream and try to escape that dream in the dream. Still following me?
So I am in this cross over of a big fancy shopping mall and the fancy parts, like ball rooms, restaurants and the like of an expensive cruise ship. With lots of floors like in a shopping mall. But in order to climb those floors, you have to take staircases that are isolated from the shopping malls and have to go through doors in the shopping mall to reach those staircases. When I go through those doors, ascend or descend stairs and go out from a door I realise that I can switch dreams or waves of the shooter dream I am in. I can either go deeper in dream levels or I can go out of the dream in the dream. So I think I found the solution to wake up and continue the heist.
I start razing through staircases, shooting zombies on the way. There was a time where I went up the staircase and exited a door. This led me to earlier waves to the zombie game and I could change my gear. Then I went back to the staircases and decided to descend it. I wanted to see how deep it could go. So I descended and descended but their seemed no end to it. I went so low in that staircase that new creatures appeared. Some creature with arms and legs, but those arms and legs were attached to sort of a hollow picture frame. They were not bothering me so I left them alone. I went out of a door in the deepest floor I dared to go.
I was on the first floor and every dream I had were mixed together. The shopping mall, the cruise ship, the bank, my crew members, the counter attackers, zombies, weapon an gear tables. Suddenly popcorn. A massive amount of popcorn started to flow from the upper floor and we were engulfed by it. I was still in a dream and not back with my crew members. It became hard to move and tried to escape to a door that lead to a staircase. I did. But there was no staircase.
I found myself in a movie theatre and a cartoon was playing. One of old Disney's cartoons. I think it was either peter pan or pinokkio. This time, I had someone else with me. He was trying to escape the dream in a dream too. Was he my crew member sharing the same fate as me? Or one of the other people in the bank? It did matter little, because we followed each other. We tried to escape the movie theatre, but each door led to another movie room. We panicked and thought this is it. We can't escape anymore. So we sat back, watched the movie. As time passed, we became dumber and dumber. It was as if we aged reversely and became more childish. My partner started to paint with painting tools that suddenly appeared in front of him. I don't remember what I did.
With a sudden urge I stood up and went to the one locked door behind the movie curtains. I touched it. The room changed to a bright, colourful children's room and we became children. My partner still painting, but this time we were bound to each other with handcuffs. I realized this when I looked at my hand and at the same time there was a lock pick in my right hand. So I started picking away at the lock. But as soon as I pushed the lock pick in the door I heard a metallic clang. I looked down and lo and behold. The key to the room was at the bottom of the door. I Immediately took it and showed my partner. We had went back to adults again. He looked at me as if he had a hangover and asked me what had happened. He had finished his painting and it was laying on the floor, I picked it up and showed him. I said: "don't you remember? You did this!"
before handing it over, I examined the painting. It was beautiful. He had painted a field of roses and tulips seperated by a grass road in the middle. And this road led to one big flower that was looking over the field like the sun.
He took it, went mehh, threw it away. I was like okay, whatever and opened the door. We went past a room where cops would take photographs of suspects with those height markers on the wall. I tugged my handcuffed partner with me and suddenly we decided to violently escape from the police station. We started running through the lobby of the police station and the cops shouted for us to stop. We ran through the rotating doors and a cop was on my heels. I turned around, took his gun, undid its safety and shot him. I was shocked immediately.
I was outside, my partner ran and he suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the cuffs we were bound to. I guess I was on my own now. Suddenly in my struggle to escape I fell on a woman. No one was grabbing me and the dream sort of semi-transitioned. I was let go of the police station, and this woman was my lawyer who bailed me. She was also my lover, we fell in love at that very moment when I literally fell on her. We stood up. That love, felt like every phase of love at once. Love on first sight, the first days, first kisses, first sex, and then the days where you couldn't live with each other.
We held hands and kissed each other in front of the police station. She suddenly reminded me that my crew needed me. I said:"had you ever had a dream where you loved someone and when you wake up and realise it was not real, you became sad?" she looked at the ground and said that she understood and repeated that I had to go and I could not stay forever. Her chauffeur came in a fancy SUV
She took my hands and walked me to the car. Told me I should take it to go back. I said that I did not want to and live my remaining days with her. She started to cry and said it was not possible. She said:"goodbye [my name], I hope you'll be happy in life" I said:"goodbye Madeen" and stepped in to the car. I watched her left behind, she watched me go.
After a while, I asked my chauffeur the same question as I asked Madeen. About love in dreams. He answered:"you should ask that to a real person, I am just a fabrication of your imagination" I was like hmm, alright. Then he suggested to get some wine and liquor and relax a bit.
We stopped at the big bank me and my crew members were still doing the heist in the initial dream. I went inside and saw my crew members still fighting. I saw one of my crew members, Idris Elba, and while he was fighting I remembered what my chauffeur said. I should ask a real person. I asked, but he did not hear nor see me. My chauffeur said that he can't hear me because I was still in a deeper level of the dream and told me to take the fork and spoon from the table next to me. I just sheepishly followed his commands and we went outside the bank.
Yes we went to a bank to just get a fork and spoon for some reason.
Then he drove to the supermarket in my own real life neighbourhood and he took a bottle of some wine. He left it to me to choose the liquor. The liquor aisle had nothing that I liked so I asked the supermarket workers. They kept me waiting for 45 minutes and I got angry. They brought me a little 300ml of some whiskey and we just left in frustration. We went back in the car. My chauffeur remarked how liquor, spices and meat were expensive in Europe.
And then I woke up for real.
I felt excited in the initial dream with the heist and zombies. I felt fear when I saw the creatures with arms and legs but a hollow middle. I felt love of a lifetime and the pain of break ups.
This was my dream, respect to you if you made it to the end :)

2020.01.23 09:41 RampantSaiyan I had an Inception like dream. I felt fear, excitement, love, sadness and anger in one dream.

2019.12.21 23:52 OldmanRevived i saw two movies (Bombshell, Cats)

first up was Bombshell
it was only a couple days ago that I deplored the remake of “Black Christmas,” a cruelly arrogant and boastful slog with a phony moral equivalency. “Bombshell” gets right exactly what that movie got wrong. the film does an excellent job drawing attention to the seemingly innocent and mundane details of corporate life. in the wake of Roger Ailes, sexual harassment policy became the hottest human resource issue in corporate America. any discussion of it would have been easy enough to explore, but the film turns the traditional roles of a male employer harassing a female subordinate on its ear. especially in the ever-dominant world of corporations, simple human empathy is lost against a backlash of other most often selfish concerns.
the film picks up in 2015 as the Presidential campaigns are underway. Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) breaks the fourth wall and takes us on a tour of the Fox offices, even pointing out Roger Ailes’ private and secure sanctuary. we then see the memorable moment where Ms. Kelly publicly questioned candidate Donald Trump about his history with women. it was a moment that shook the network, and elevated Kelly to worldwide notoriety. early emphasis is on Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman), and her declining role at the network as she is removed from the highly rated morning program and placed on her own show in an unappealing time slot. although her skills in the workplace seem amateurish, Carlson makes the case that she was unceremoniously removed due to her not going along with Ailes' wishes behind closed doors. it's Gretchen's lawsuit against Ailes that kicks off the downfall of the network's leader. she was the one courageous enough to be first.
Kayla Pospisill (Margot Robbie) is an ambitious producer who initially works for Carlson, and then moved swiftly to “The O’Reilly Factor.” Kayla is a composite character written to represent many of the women who worked at the network. she is smart and earnestly working towards a shot at becoming an on-air personality. it's that ambition that results in her sitting in Ailes' office when he requests, "stand up and give me a twirl." as an attempt to seal up his behavior, he follows this reasoning: "it’s a visual medium." Kayla's interaction allows us a glimpse at the systemic sexual harassment that became commonplace in the office. the toxic environment was not isolated to Ailes, as shown here and proven later.
the physically alimented Ailes is played by John Lithgow, who’s able to grasp at the ego and demented nature. What makes this even more frightening is that Ailes apparently used this harassment and manipulation as the first step in a form of mind control; to ensure the content of his network fit his closed-minded ideals. the message was clear: remain loyal to him or lose your career. and of course there are office hearings and confrontations as the company tries to get to the bottom of the charges without allowing a public scandal. Kelly keeps a zip on any potential responses she could have, as she doesn’t want to become the “poster girl for sexual harassment.”
Charlize Theron is smart and in command of her presence, and she's persuasive here as she defends herself. that is, alongside with Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman. wherever you look in this movie, people are representative figures rather than people. the choice is theirs to either stand up for what they believe in, or continue standing to the side in silence. and of course, we now live in the age where internet economy has grown from its nascence. in the simple push of a button, one man’s world could be crushed.
the camera work is at a service to the story. there's a nervous energy to how Roach is keeping the shots, things moving about from one angle to another, the hand-held and the zooms moving about to such a rhythm that is not sloppy. it kept me on edge, but that's the right choice for this material; it's angering and heartbreaking. there are moments when you want to cringe at the danger these women are in. considering the male predators, we sense the chilling disconnect between their actions and consequences, the buildup of resentments and hatreds, the moral vacuum, the way they can talk themselves into doing unthinkable things, and above all the need to talk about it.
“Bombshell” is intended as a wake-up call, and surprisingly, it works without pushing too hard or going too far in the most difficult subjects. what we have is a look into our world, where for years these events continued, but were hardly talked about. only now are we owning up to it. the film is like a documentary of a real life horror that unfolds in slow motion, and reminds us that even after the fact, no one is listening. because truth is like poetry.

next up was Cats
from what dark night of the soul emerged the wretched idea for “Cats”? who considered it even remotely a plausible idea for a movie? i am not a fan of cats themselves, but this movie made me reminisce on the regular species formation. when they're presented as miniature adults, there is something so fundamentally wrong that our human instincts cry out in protest. “Cats” was one of the longest running hits on Broadway, for reasons that still remain a complete mystery to me. both the costume design and the visual flair give off such an instantaneous feel of revulsion and disgust that it detracts any other possibility of enjoyment. yes, in theory, the concept could be considered relatively creative, but to what purpose?
the movie begins with a bag of garbage thrown in the streets of London. a number of alley cats gather around to examine its contents, and from it emerges a white cat known as Victoria (Francesca Hayward). the cats then question whether or not she is one of their tribe, called the Jellicles, as they come together at the annual Jellicle Ball to decide which one of them will ascend to the Heaviside Layer (their version of heaven) and be reborn into a new life. a bulk of the plot consists of the different contenders being introduced, either by themselves or by other cats. music and dance are the main focus of the show, at the expense of a traditional narrative structure. the Jellicle cats are introduced either by themselves or by other cats, mostly through song, and they appear to pop out by the numbers. Almost all of them are fastidiously keeping a certain distance from characterization and personality, because they are, at the end of the day, simply cats.
because we are stuck with them for a tedious two hours, we have no choice but to sit and wait for them to actually do something worthy of our time and interest. different cats take the spotlight, and perform a number about who they are. Jennyanydots (Rebel Wilson) is a lazy tabby who wreaks havoc at night. Bustopher Jones (James Corden) is a street cat decked out in tail-coat and spats, making him essentially the feline version of Oliver Hardy. Mr. Mistoffelees (Laurie Davidson) sports a top hat and does magic tricks. Skimbleshanks (Steven McRae) commandeers railway cars with the power of his tap-dancing. the merriment is cut short, however, by the arrival of Macavity (Idris Elba), a notorious criminal who abducts the other competitors in an attempt to win the ball and get his own transmigration. Grizabella: The Glamour Cat (Jennifer Hudson) was part of the Jellicle tribe until she went off with Macavity. there’s also Old Deuteronomy (Judi Dench), an ancient, wise cat who has lived many lives in succession. though she has outlived her partners, she has had numerous progeny.
the images are packed, but what’s going on in them isn’t directly involving; it’s at a remove. for long stretches, just about every shot is a special effect, and the scenes have the deadness of special effects without a clear narrative. this is a movie about a storyteller’s tales made by a director who shows no feeling for the magical pleasure an audience experiences when the timing is a jamboree, the episodes have a dramatic shape, and everything dovetails in a perfect surprise. the director is Tom Hooper, who has translated plays to film before with “Les Misérables,” which was so infinitely better and wiser and gentler and nicer. most stage-to-film adaptations must confront the charge of being stagy. many successful attempts have been made to open up stage plays to show things that could not possibly be done in the theatre. but alas, this film is a mere trifle.
back to the makeup and costuming: are these characters meant to be as mawkish as i found them? if Hooper and his moviemaking team were aware of what a soft bundle of anthropomorphic ick these creatures are, they would have scrapped the idea long before production began. the cats gave me the creeps. i had the fingernails-on-a-blackboard effect as I was looking at these unattractive, uncharismatic, and just plain weird creations. all I could think was, “get me out of here before I have to look at these creatures for one more second.” the stars all seem to be singing their own songs, aided by an off-screen chorus, plus full orchestration. the plot is a clothesline on which to hang the songs; the movie doesn't sparkle when nobody is singing or dancing, but that's rarely.
in terms of the backgrounds, there’s something of Méliès to this scenic approach, and something of Fritz Lang, too. Hooper displays each new set proudly, with a flourish. But it’s not enough to have great set design, you must know what to do with it. Hooper doesn’t have the imagination to believe in his vision and support it all the way. the elements are here for a fantasy, but the innocence is missing. in some area of themselves, Hooper seems to deny himself a child’s sense of wonder. this movie isn’t for kids. it’s not for anyone. that is, unless you have some kind of warped, intimate fascination with cats who carry human psychology.
“Cats” is a movie that just clangs. it has no outstanding scenes, no highs, it just slogs along, and those worst moments are the film's texture. it’s got a style, all right, but the movie doesn’t look like other movies, or sound like them. it’s a leering, portentous style delving into a stupor of inactivity. Tom Hooper has proven himself to be a lucky showman with strong opportunism, yet his work here is almost forced together chaotically. he overdesigns every social occasion into a disconnected grotesqueness. i think one is more likely to feel cold antipathy toward the movie than enjoyment of it. if you’re going to place a musical of sensibility to the big screen, it had better be your own sensibility. it may be a disaster, but the viewer isn't as likely to get the empty feeling of being on the outside staring reverently at not very much. what’s visible in the movie is a very minuscule hint of enthusiasm, but at some point, it all comes to bite you on the nose.

2019.12.14 05:47 blvckmuseum Same Sex Couples on DWTS

Keo did a livestream earlier on Instagram, and someone asked him how he felt about having same sex couples competing on the show, and he said he supports it because it’s 2019 (he also said that if he was to be partnered with another male celebrity, he’d want to be partnered with Idris Elba). Sasha also posted a story a few days ago about a same sex couple winning one of the interntional versions of the show, and he was happy about it. Personally, I’d love to have a same sex couple compete, and I’m surprised (but also kind of not surprised tbh) that the US show hasn’t made it happen yet. Do you guys think it’ll happen anytime soon?
Also, speaking of Keo wanting to dance with Idris Elba, if DWTS does have a same sex couple compete, who would you like to see partnered up?

2019.11.15 05:50 Zepanda66 Black Widow 4chan leak

Natasha runs to escape the accords and heads to Budapest to retrieve the "Foxcharge," which is a sort of clean slate digital eraser that gets rid of your prints, face, DNA in any government databases. Super spy McGuffin.
she finds Yelena there who has been assigned to kill her. Yelena didn't know she would be the target, and backs off after a playful fight. The family dynamic between them and Alexei, who they break out of a gulag, is very strong and fun throughout.
The plot basically has 3 threads, getting Foxcharge, Nat being chased by every government, and stopping "Melina", who eventually suits up as a revamped Iron Maiden in a suit very akin to Matt LeBlanc's in Lost in Space, from reactivating the Black Widow program.
Natasha, Yelena, Red Guardian and her old partnelover Mason have to sneak across borders and fight all the remaining Black Widows who get sent after them.
Taskmaster always seems to know where they will be. The film makes you think all of her allies could be him. He is able to perfectly mirror all the combat styles. Has a memorable fight with Red Guardian. a dirty bar fight version of Cap vs Cap in Endgame.
He has a tank/mobile command center that drives itself. Think Idris Elba's badass motorcycle in Hobbs and Shaw. This is gonna steal the show in the same way.
The Arc of the film is very much this wild world calling Natasha back to it, and her trying to get her family out of it.
Mason is revealed to be Taskmaster and kills Red Guardian in front of Natasha and Yelena during a climatic fight between all of them and Melina. The remaining Black Widows turn on Iron Maiden and she ends up locked in the red room torture chamber to get her justice.
Yelena kills Taskmaster by shooting him through his broken mask as he is about to kill Natasha. Nat is pissed but understands and gives Yelena the Foxcharge so she can disappear. Nat says she has unfinished business, and the movie ends with her meeting up with Falcon and Cap in Italy.

2019.10.20 14:57 Ohigetjokes Me, My Wife, and Idris Elba

This was a nothing moment. We had a nothing conversation about a nothing issue and nothing came of it. And that's what makes it special.
Last night we were celebrating and went out for drinks. After more whiskey and beer than I'd usually imbibe in such a short period the conversation drifted to Idris Elba and his amazingly sexy good looks.
And that was it. No big deal.
But in the light of day I'm realizing now how special what I have with my wife is. Many women would have felt threatened or paranoid about a conversation like that one, or thought it indicated some kind of desire to cheat. And honestly that's not totally crazy on their part, it's understandable that they might feel that way.
So it's a rare and beautiful thing to be able to be completely open about my feelings, and the struggle so many bisexual men have to establish this level of trust with their partners is a significant thing.
We're celebrating our 20th anniversary next January and I'm more in love with her than ever.
That's all, just wanted to share a happy moment.

2019.08.25 17:31 ameliaspond "You Are What You Love": An Analysis of Who Taylor Loves

This is my first post here, so please forgive me if I do something wrong!
Taylor is probably most famous for her love songs, but humans are complex and there is more than one type of love in the world.
Approaching the album this way gave me a different perspective and I thought someone else might enjoy, too. There are some songs on Lover that struck me as odd additions or placements on an otherwise (in my view) cohesive album. In an effort to better understand the album as a whole, rather than a collection of bops that I love, I wanted to dive into the Lover tracklist.
Warning: This is not that serious and just meant to be fun!

Track Title The Recipient of Her Love
I Forgot That You Existed Herself - a lighthearted meta-commentary on her own inability to move on from a situation and the freedom that comes from letting go
Cruel Summer Her Romantic Partner - that initial rush that comes from a new love
Lover Her Romantic Partner - the comfort that comes from a stable, well-worn love
The Man Herself - a critique of the double standards society holds for women in power vs. men
The Archer Herself - while it sounds like love song for a romantic partner, I think the lyrics illustrate her journey for self-acceptance
I Think He Knows Her Romantic Partner - flirty dirty love that is a freakin' BOP
Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince Her Ideals (?) - this one is harder, but to me it reads as a love song to an ideal America that never really existed and disillusionment from discovering things weren't what she believed
Paper Rings Her Romantic Partner - a love song celebrating the ideal gift of a first anniversary (Kidding, to me it's just pretty clear more adult Stay Stay Stay)
Cornelia Street Her Romantic Partner - a love that would require re-wiring her world if it ended
Death By A Thousand Cuts Her Romantic Partner - a haunting story of the loneliness that comes from the death of a relationship juxtaposed with a bubbly production
London Boy Her Romantic Partner - Taylor's official campaign for Idris Elba to play 007. (Kidding, the song's topic is just very on the nose)
Soon You'll Get Better Her Family - the helpless, loneliness and terror when someone you love is deathly ill
False God Her Romantic Partner - flirty dirty love that is a certifiable Smooth Jam™
You Need to Calm Down Her Friends - her unambiguous statement of support for her LGBTQ friends
Afterglow Her Romantic Partner - almost pt. 2 of The Archer where her acceptance of her own mistakes allows her to vulnerably apologize/confess to her person
ME! Herself - this is the song that made me dive into why she would include this song on an album called Lover; you have to love yourself before you can love someone else, etc etc
It's Nice To Have a Friend Her Romantic Partner - the ole title switcheroo! a song about childhood platonic love blooming into romantic love
Daylight Her Romantic Partner - the freedom that comes from letting go of the preconceived ideas of love weighing her down and embracing the lightness of real love
